August 25, 2021 - Looking for Nominations for 2021 MADC Awards

Sharing a message from Eric Nooker and Shawn Whiting who are coordinating 2021 Awards.

Hello, MADC is looking for nominations for 2021 Awards! Do you know someone who deserves recognition for their involvement with the Deaf community? Please nominate them for MADC Awards 2021!

Deadline: September 22, 2021, 8 PM Central Standard Time (CST).

Eric: Hello! I’m Eric Nooker with Shawn (name sign of S on back of left hand) Whiting for the MADC Awards. Chairperson Julie (name sign of J along lower jawline twice) Pleski asked us to coordinate the MADC Awards this year. The conference is happening (when) on October 8 and 9, 2021. We are excited to announce (nomination) opportunities for people. We have eight different awards. Next, Shawn will share more information about the awards.

Deaf Minnesotan of the Year: for recognition of significant and meritorious service to Deaf people in Minnesota.

Gordon Allen Community Award: presented to the organization whose community involvement has contributed positive and productive service towards the advancement of Deaf people in Minnesota.

Petra F. Howard Achievement Award: for recognition of dedication and personal achievement towards the interest of Deaf people in Minnesota.
Legislator of the Year Award: for recognition of exceptional support for the rights of Deaf people in Minnesota.

MADC Appreciation Award: for recognition of positive and productive service to the Deaf patrons.

Robert Stokes Achievement Award: for recognition of respect and success achieved by a Deaf Individual in the business world.

Wesley Lauristen Service Award: presented to the person who during the past four years has contributed unselfish service towards the growth of MADC.

MADC Youth Award: presented to a person or organization that is dedicated to our Deaf youth in Minnesota.
